The Passenger Rail Agency of the Prasa Board of South Africa has deployed various officers for special vacations and suspensions.
According to Prasa's statement issued on Friday, the board decided to act on allegations of inappropriate, irregular, corrupt, useless and wasted expenditures on related employees.
The board will have the right to respond to the allegations against the employees.
Prasa has been Lindikaya Zide, a special holiday company secretary for Chris Mbatha, Chief Information Officer of Prasa corporate real estate solution Tara Ngubane. Prasa paused Tumi Mohube, Enterprise Risk Manager.
"The release or special appointment of four officers ensures fair procedures based on innocent principles until guilty," said interim CEO Dr. Nkosinathi Sishi.
Culture of impunity
Khanyisile Kweyama, board chairman, said the decision was taken to strengthen Prasa as it affected commuters and passengers due to legal violations.
"The degree of inappropriate and useless wasteful expenditure reported by several independent experts shows the culture of impunity to be reduced at once."
Transportation Minister Blade Nzimande has previously stated that Prasa I was treated like ATM. He appointed a board in April 2018 and returned the goods to the company for 12 months. Fin24 reported earlier.
Sibisis Sithole recently retired as interim CEO. The board promoted CEO, CFO and other key group executive positions.
