Johannesburg – KwaZulu – Natal Police said last week that they were searching for Ian Da Taxi, who is believed to have killed his ex-girlfriend in front of his family in Nanda, north of Durban.
The suspect stabbed her 24-year-old Mbalenhle Cele from her Inanda house in her bedroom. He has not seen it since.
Colonel Thembeka Mbele, a KZN police spokesman, said Friday that there is no arrest for the case. "I have never been arrested and the case is still under investigation," she said.
It is not clear why the executive cousin, Sthe Nyanda, could not find a suspect in social media because of the police.
"This man is somewhere in the hiding place! Who is protecting the murderer? Please please Who are you, please do the right thing, he is a monster, please send it to the police. I wrote on Facebook.
Celeh's mother, Nonhlanhla, told the Daily News earlier this week that her family was struggling to cope with Mbalenhle's death. Nyandan, on the other hand, knew there was a problem between Malvin and the suspect and was planning to provide an escape route to Johannesburg.
"I told her she needed money to come to Jonanesburg to get some fresh air, and I was very shocked when I called on Wednesday that she was dead," she said.
