Air New Zealand A321neo stops at Cairns before arriving in Auckland.

Air New Zealand's first Airbus A321neo is not scheduled to launch commercial service on the Auckland-Brisbane route until November 23, 2018, but is already visible in Australia's skies.

As part of a flight to Auckland from the Hamburg facility at Airbus, ZK-NNA's arrival in Cairns on Sunday night (local time) resulted in the arrival of all black decorations and painted aircraft on the aircraft in Cairns.

Air New Zealand will begin commercial service on November 23rd with the A321neo, and from Auckland to Brisbane, the NZ739 will begin service flights.

This aircraft is one of seven A321neos and six A320neos because it joins the fleet between now and the year 2019. The next generation of narrow spaces will replace the current A320ce and will be deployed in the Australian and Pacific Islands networks.

The airline chose the Pratt & Whitney PG1000G engine to power the A320neo and A321neo fleets.

The A321neos is configured to accommodate 214 passengers in a single class layout and the A320neos will have 165 seats.

Air New Zealand is the first Oceania airline to have an A320neo aircraft.
