Qatar Airways suspends lounge access in point-based’reward’ reservations

Executive Traveler only

Travelers who use frequent flyer points or miles to book Business Class seats on Qatar Airways will find that airport lounge access is no longer part of the deal.

With a recent overhaul of Qatar Airways’ fare structure, we now designate Business Class’reward’ bookings as unbundled Business Class Classic fares., This will remove the lounge access rights along with the luxury seat selection.

Luckily, passengers holding Qatar Airways’ Free Village Club Gold or Platinum status (or equivalent to other Oneworld member airlines) will find that they still have access to the lounge with a shiny card.

But without a status, there is no lounge unless paid at the door.

This is an option to choose from at Qatar Airways’ Doha Lounge. Prices are as follows: 300 QAR (A $113) ~ 600 QAR (A $226)-Most independent lounges.

A spokesman for Qatar Airways Executive Traveler That passenger”When you book Business Class award tickets, Business Class Classic tickets are standard. “

Like all travelers who booked Business Class Classic fares, cTemporary lounge access and advance seat selection are subject to “Qatar Airways Free Village Club and Oneworld Elite benefits.”

Qatar Airways’ latest fare table is “iComplimentary lounge access at all airports is not included when booked in Business Classic. This includes third party contract lounges and other Oneworld member airline lounges. “

“However, if the passenger is a QR Gold/Platinum or Oneworld Sapphire/Emerald, the tier benefit will still apply and access will be granted.”
