Turkish manufacturer Karsan has launched Karsan Jest Electric, a new electric minibus. Its autonomous range varies from 80 to 210 km (NEDC cycle) due to the BMW i3 battery pack. Customers can choose either a single Li-ion battery with 33 and 44 kWh capacity or a dual package with capacities 66 and 88 kWh.
The electric engine is 125 kW and the maximum torque is 290 Nm. The maximum speed is limited to 70 km / h.
Using a regular AC charger will take 6 hours to charge 80% of the battery. The same charging takes place for 40 minutes with a 50kW rapid charger. The regenerative braking will charge the battery up to 25%.
The electric bus relies on an automatic transmission with one gear. This model has self-supporting structure and independent suspension on all four wheels.

The next step for the Turkish company is Atak Electric at 8.1 feet. He is still in phase testing using a 220kWi Li-ion battery pack that should provide an autonomous range of about 300km. The model is expected to be available as a ready-made version next year.
