(NASA) – Numerous magnificent and swirling clouds in Jupiter's dynamic North North Temperate Belt are captured in NASA's Juno spacecraft image. This scene has several bright white "pop-up" clouds and a thorough storm known as a white oval.

This color enhanced image was taken at 1:58 p.m. On October 29, 2018 (4:58 pm EDT) at PDT, the spacecraft made Jupiter's 16th nearest flight.

At that time, Juno was at a latitude of about 40 degrees north, about 4,400 miles (7,000 kilometers) from the top of the planet's cloud.

Civil scientists Gerald Eichstädt and Sean Doran created this image using data from the spacecraft's JunoCam Imager.
