The Election Commission released thousands of statements and said the deadly spread of Ebola virus would delay the election schedule for Congo for several months in some areas where hundreds have been infected.
The statement said elections will be held in North Kivu and Berne. It is long since the announcement of the results of the Democratic Republic of Congo election scheduled for January 15 has been over.
Congolese elections have already been postponed for more than two years. Opposition officials said they would no longer wait for Joseph Kabila's successor to be elected.
Ebola is the second most deadly epidemic in history, and some parts of eastern Congo are threatened by rebel attacks.
The Election Commission said the delay was due to instability.
