The reconstruction of the Baťa department store in Zlín's workshop square ends after a year and four months. The repaired building will be open to the general public on Friday, November 9. On this day most of the stores will start to run on the two lowest floor shopping arcades. The rest of the restaurants, gourmets and high floors will be in the coming weeks and months. This building is still the original traditional name of the Zlín Department Store.
Built in 1931 by František Lydia Gahura, the center of a well-known city built by Bata won a new modern face during the reconstruction period. The goal was to do everything in connection with the construction of Bata. The architecture of Bata is a key element of the city. Owners and investors have agreed with conservationists to return the building to its original form, which is rare, especially in windows. People on the two lowest floors stretch from floor to ceiling and gradually narrow down.
There was also a complete reconstruction of the interior and there was additional work related to the building's static compared to its original anticipation. Until the reconstruction, the ceiling was not completely built according to historical documents. "The investment in strengthening the statistics was the original planned date of the opening about two months ago, but security was of the utmost importance to us," said PRIOR Zlín Radovan Pilich of the company.
Previously, six department stores owned a department store, but this range has now lost its advantage. The "New" department store in Zlín has a shopping center around the second floor, and the restaurant is full of food and shops. "Our goal is to meet at the center of Zlín and create a place where we can meet good food, drink and modern shopping," Radovan Pilich added.
And what will all visitors see in the shopping arcades from November 9th? The Billa supermarket will come back here, it will be larger and it will be made up of a wider range of things. Visitors will also receive a DM drugstore, La Formaggeria Gran Moravia cheese, Dobrovský bookshop, Grafit stationery, Na Fešák barber, House Deco & Flowers, Transfrontier, Goldsmithing, exchange and other complementary products, and Eiscafe Delikana confectionery.
Valvy Bistrotea, which is expected to open Budvarka for the first time in Moravia next week, offers a bakery bistro, a shop with its own products, a bakery cafe, Cornettery, Lounge Barem 1931 and a cooking class. The company was founded by a resort in Valachy who wants to take advantage of the gastronomic experience of a managed hotel in Valké Karlovice.
Next month will be the center of massages and rehabilitation, the second café and the Fresh Bar JOGURTOVNA (a popular holiday destination for families with children) will be opened here with the second Zlin establishment with a children's corner.
The third and sixth floors of the Zlín Business House are rented by HP TRONIC, a Zlin company that operates the Datart, Euronics and Kasa.cz stores, operates the ETA brand and operates the Valachy Resort. HP TRONIC relocates its headquarters to a building. So far, the company has offices in several locations in the center of Zlín. HP TRONIC has also previously advised to take advantage of the top floor of the department store and build a spa hotel with an experienced restaurant in the spirit of the spa hotel of Valacha Resort. "In 2019, we will start preparing for the wellness center and the top floor restaurant with panoramic views of Zlín, and then there will be additional accommodation," added Daniel Večeř.
The department store Zlín is also organizing a variety of events to offer Christmas programs, such as Christmas.
The transformation took place in front of the Zlín Business House, where Zlín Municipality rebuilt the parking lot and introduced new preferential rates. The first hour of parking is now free.

Fun facts about history of ZLINN department storeUntil recently, there was a report in 1932 that department stores were open to visitors. During the rebuilding, however, historians found documents that opened department stores at the end of 1931 (Baťa showed an excellent interest in pre-Christmas shopping …)
Another interesting fact is that the Czech Republic's first step is at the Zlín Business House. Recently discovered period materials and newspaper articles were installed in 1934. Until recently, the rally staircase was mentioned in Prague's White House Swan Building in 1939.
