Swindon dismissed boss Phil Brown on Sunday and announced today that Richie Wellens had taken over the deceased at the club.

"It's a great opportunity for me to manage a good football, good infrastructure, and a football club that has played the style I want to play for the last six or seven years," Wellens said.

"I want to put the ball down, be positive, fast, pass the football, and bring the results and success to this football club, because this moment is not too fulfilling."

Alan Reynolds of Waterford, who played Hunt as a player and assistant, said today. "Noel was a professional away from professional field and I want to thank him.

"He played a big role in helping his home club win the European championship.

Hunt hoped Waterford would help finish last season and push Swindon over the table. Robbins is now 17th with 17 games.
