Initially, scientists thought that this particular type of object was simply a strange asteroid. These strange and very long shapes are unprecedented in about 750,000. Asteroids and comets are formed in our solar system.
The mentioned asteroid was found in Hawaii's telescope and was named Oumuamua, meaning "messenger" in Hawaii. The object is only about 400m in length and about 40m in width. Some properties, however, change the opinion of scientists, and perhaps Oumuamua is considered a space ship of civilization that lives in other parts of the world, not in asteroids
This theory was returned to the researchers when it was discovered that a mysterious object suddenly increased speed and left the solar system in January of this year.
"When considering artificial origins, one of the possibilities is that Oumuamua is a lightweight, space-based advanced space technology," says Astrophysical Journal Letters. Scientists believe that spacecraft can be driven by solar energy.
Abraham Loeb, an astronomer at Harvard University, is confident that a prototype – like spacecraft has already been built on Earth.
Loeb with his colleagues believes that Oumuamua's special trajectory and tremendous speed mean that this ship is no longer used.
Oumuamua is the first visible object in the solar system, believed to have arrived outside our planetary system.
"We were lucky enough to find our telescope in the right place at the right time to see this historic moment," said Lindley Johnson, NASA's director of planetary defense.
