Chinese manufacturers are preparing to release the next mainstream smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 9, without slowing down. The first information about the upcoming device appeared on the Internet.
According to the GizChina website, the Xiaomi smartphone is equipped with a new Qualcomm processor. The Snapdragon 8150 chip is built on a 7-nanometer lithography process and will compete with Kirin 980 (Huawei Mate P20 Pro) and Apple A12 (iPhone XS). It is possible that the new Snapdragon has already been tested in the Geekbench application. The result is similar to the Kirin 980, but Apple chips are still the most efficient.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 will debut in the first half of 2019. It will be one of the first smartphones to feature the mentioned Snapdragon 8150. Depending on the version, you will get 6 or 8 GB of RAM. You may have a version with 10GB of RAM. In turn, a 48 MP camera (Sony IMX586) is placed at the back.
Of course, the display will have a built-in fingerprint reader. Face recognition systems can also be expected. Xiaomi must decide to use wireless charging.
The new smartphone will be the successor of the Xiaomi Mi 8 this year. In this test, the Mi 8 proved to be a truly sophisticated device. However, there is no disaster. First, there is a notch size at the top of the screen. Your smartphone does not have a memory card slot and a mini-jack connector. Whether Mi 9 inherits these shortcomings is not yet clear. Xiaomi can reapply the notch to the screen or Mi Mix 3 pattern and can be fitted with a sliding front camera.
The price is really attractive. This year's best Mi 8 cost is now much cheaper than many competitors because it is now only 1,900 PLN in the default configuration. Even if his successor is a bit more expensive, he will still offer really good value for money.
