Geneva / Kampala. The life-threatening Ebola virus continues to spread in central Africa's Congo, and neighboring countries are concerned. In Uganda, 1600 helpers are being vaccinated at the border area health center, health minister Jane Ruth Aceng said on the weekend.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has already reported suspected cases in Ebola in southern Sudan, Uganda, and even Yemen. But in any case, it was not actually an Ebola infection.

Approximately 12 million people were surveyed in the border area of ​​the Congo to find traces of Ebola. There were 14 cases of suspicion, and one of them was found to have a virus.

According to the Congolese Ministry of Health, from the beginning of August to the end of October, 250 people were definitely infected and another 35 people were infected with Ebola virus. 81 patients were recovered and 180 patients died.

The WHO is becoming aware of more and more Congo cases. This week President Adhanom Ghebreyesus will travel to Congo. He also accompanies the head of the United Nations peacekeeping mission, Jean-Pierre Lacroix. (AP)
