Defender Pogba, Guinee international, joined the club from the Turkish side Genclerbirligi.
"We are pleased to officially welcome Florentine to our club," said Atlanta technical coach Carlos Bocaegra, in a statement.
"He is a physical center where he can play with his feet.
"He also has tremendous experience representing clubs and nations at various international tournaments, and we expect him to compete for time in our back line."
The 28-year-old Pogba arrived at a fast-paced club in North America's premier league, collecting a sizable crowd and winning the second season.
The new MLS season will start in March and Atlanta will also play in the CONCACAF Champions League starting this month.
