Light physical activity associated with reduced heart disease risk in older women

floor line: Observational studies of nearly 5,900 elderly (arthritis patients) using accelerometer data to measure mild physical activity suggest that there may be all-day movement to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) and cardiovascular disease (CVD) It is a preview. . A greater risk reduction is associated with mild physical activity (5.6 hours per day or more) compared to the lowest level of physical activity (less than 3.9 hours per day). This reduced risk was retained even after considering other measures of physical function and the health status of women. There were 143 CVDs (including myocardial infarction and coronary artery death) and 570 CVD nephropathy, including stroke or death from CHD, cardiovascular disease, carotid artery disease, hospitalized angina, congestive heart failure, and other strokes. Mean follow-up of 3.5 years. Longer studies, including men, are needed to increase the intensity of evidence for mild physical activity to prevent CVD. The authors suggest that this discovery does not preclude the American Physical Activity Guidelines (2018) for replacing sit-ups with mild physical activity.
